European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) Midterm Conference in Law & Economics

The Institute of Law & Economics (ILE), Law School, Universität Hamburg is proud to host the Midterm Conference of the EMLE programme from 12 to 14 February 2026 in Hamburg.

We invite scholars from the fields of Law & Economics and Empirical Legal Studies to present their research at the academic conference on 13 February 2026.

The Midterm Meeting will start at 9:00 and will include a keynote lecture, academic workshops, events for students, alumni and associate partners, the graduation ceremony of the EMLE class 2024/2025 and will conclude with a conference dinner. ILE will provide complimentary refreshments and lunch during the conference. The final programme will be available on this website in January 2026 – Please note that the order of the events may change slightly from the preliminary programme that will be published shortly.

There are no conference fees or other costs for conference speakers and associated partners to attend the Midterm Meeting. To assure proper registration and participation in the conference, all other attendees are kindly asked to register through the links on this website before 1 February 2026.

Conference Venue

The Academic Conference Sessions will take place in the PHILOSOPHER’S TOWER (Von Melle Park 6).

The Graduation Ceremony will be held in the LICHTHOF (Von Melle Park 3 / Moorweidenstraße 40).

The Conference Dinner will take place at the HISTORISCHER SPEICHERBODEN, Kehrwieder 2–3, Block D I, 20457 Hamburg.

Academic Conference: Programme

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

Conference Fee (including refreshments, lunch and dinner):

  • Graduates, Alumni € 55,-
  • Guests of Graduates, Alumni € 80,-
  • Staff (EMLE-related and ILE) € 100,-
  • Day conference programme only (no dinner) € 30,-

Please note that transaction costs are to be paid by the payer.

 

If graduates bring a guest, we kindly ask them to make another payment with the name of the graduate, but this time in the amount of the fee for guests.

Please inform the organiser mtm26@emle.org of any food allergies or other dietary restrictions.

Payments are to be made by February 1, 2026.

In case you wish to attend the Graduation Ceremony only, please register by email to mtm26@emle.org.

EMLE&BEYOND

The EMLE&Beyond Session on February 13 will give students and graduates of the EMLE programme the opportunity to get into contact with company representives from the EMLE Associate Members as well as the opportunity to hear about possible future career opportunities from their fellow Alumni EMLE students.
