Erasmus student mobility grants are intended to offset the additional costs of mobility, such as travel costs, foreign language preparation where necessary and a higher cost of living in the host country.
In the context of the EMLE programme, we expect Erasmus+ Mobility Grants to be available to EMLE students under certain circumstances also for the academic year 2016/2017.
In 2014/2015, the Mobility Grants were offered for the first time under the new Erasmus+ system. Therefore there are still some changes possible and new forms are still being developed from time to time.
In the academic year 2014/2015 the EMLE could grant approx. 32,000€ in Erasmus+ Mobility Grants to 48 European and Non-European students.
Currently you may be eligible only if you
– have not yet exhausted the maximum of 12 months in an Erasmus programme at Master level during prior university studies (with or without grant),
– do not receive an Erasmus+ Scholarship for the EMLE programme and
– spend either the first or the second term (but not both) in Hamburg.
The Mobility Grant will be paid for one term only – the term that you do not spend in Hamburg.
The monthly amount that will be paid can change from year to year.
From 2014 on, the monthly amount depended on the country you chose. In 2015/2016 it amounts to 250 € p.m. (for 30 days) for Bologna and to 200 € p.m. (for 30 days) for Rotterdam and Ghent.
If you might be eligible, you will be contacted by Hamburg EMLE staff several weeks before the start of the term in question. It is important that you react to these e-mails promptly.
