Local Coordinator:
Carlos Gómez Carlos Gómez is Profesor titular de universidad (tenured professor) at the Department of Law at Universitat Pompeu Fabra since 2008. He holds a degree in Law and a degree in Business Administration. His main areas of teaching and research include Torts and Contracts. He has been visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg, the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, and visiting professor at the University of Illinois College of Law, the IDC-Radzyner School of Law at Herzliya, the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville and the East China University of Political Sciences and the Law in Shanghai.

Teaching Staff:
Benito Arruñada Benito Arruñada is Professor of Business Organization at the Department of Economics and Business at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Prior to joining Pompeu Fabra and after graduating from the Universities of Oviedo and Rochester, he held positions at the Universities of Oviedo and León, and was John M. Olin Visiting Scholar in Law and Economics at Harvard Law School. He has also taught at the Universities of Paris (I and X), Frankfurt, Autónoma de Madrid and Pablo de Olavide in Seville. Most of Arruñada’s current research analyzes the institutional bases that make firms and markets possible: from the most concrete, such as property titling and business regulation, to some of the most abstract, such as moral systems. Using various methods, from case analysis to mathematical and econometric models, this research aims to discover the organizational conditions that facilitate impersonal exchange, the best means for specializing resources and speeding up economic growth.
 
Fernando Gomez Since 2001, Fernando has been a chaired professor of civil law (Catedrático de Derecho Civil) at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra School of Law in Barcelona. He has lectured at New York University School of Law, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the University of Wales, Hamburg Universität, the George Mason University School of Law and the Radzyner School of Law (IDC-Herzliya) in Israel.
 
Dr. Antoni Rubí-Puig Dr. Antoni Rubí-Puig is an Associate Professor of Civil Law (non-tenured) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). Antoni Rubí has been an Invited Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg, a Visiting Scholar at Yale Law School and U.C. Berkeley School of Law. His main interests of research lie in the fields of copyright, commercial speech, and art law. He holds a Ph.D. in Law from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and is the author of the book Advertising and Freedom of Speech (Publicidad y libertad de expresión, Thomson-Reuters, 2008) and several book chapters and law review articles on copyright, privacy torts and civil liability of ISPs, as well as on general tort law and products liability. He has provided legal consultancy services to Spanish and Catalan public authorities, as well as to companies and individual authors on topics related with intellectual property law and other areas of his expertise.
